Mind Five was specifically set up for the LGBTQ community working within the Arts & Creative industries & those suffering from the strains of mental health deterioration.
We recognise that too often people in the creative industries have the pressures of keeping up and being cool with the stigma of mental illness being sidelined or judged in favour of our friends having a good time. This ends up making us feel lonely and isolated.
Warren Khan & Matthew Shingleton established Mind Five in 2010 as their partnership to help like minded sufferers within the creative industry. Warren having previously run HKA a creative advertising agency and Matthew having been involved in tv production (most recently Man Like Mobeen) knew what it was like having a mental burnout. They both firmly believed that it was time to help others to give a virtual ‘ high five 🙌’ to the mind. After both met in recovery post their severe depressive episodes they decided to embark upon this journey to save lives and to help others take the power back in their lives.
The mission of our organization is to empower mental health awareness and improvements within the LGBTQ arts and creative industries which does not receive the coverage or expertise so urgently needed.
We love our followers and supporters , so feel free to visit during normal business hours.
